Wilma Marie Morehead

Wilma Marie Morehead, 80 of Logansport, died at 9:58 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Loganpsort Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 19, 1930 in Logansport to John and Edna Beroth. She was married in Logansport on January 31,1953, to Gene E. Morehead, who survives.
Wilma graduated from Logansport High School in 1948. She was a homemaker until her youngest child entered kindergarten. At that time, she began working for the Logansport Community School Corporation as a noon-aide and eventually was employed in the food service department at Logansport High School. She retired in 1995, after serving 25 years. She loved being around people and visiting with people in the community, so she decided to rejoin the work force. She was employed with Mr. Happy Burger East and West for ten years.
She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees throughout the years. She loved to play bingo and visit with friends. Wilma was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. She enjoyed watching Peyton Manning play football every weekend. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. At sporting events, she was their biggest fan and cheerleader. She always listened to her grandchildren with an open heart.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Gena Danely and her husband Rex, and Joyce Shaffer and her husband Eric, all of Logansport; one son, Kent Morehead and his wife Rita, of Logansport; one sister, Gail Lydick of Richmond; six grandchildren, Misty (Carl) Swan of Kokomo, Matthew Danely of Logansport, Laura Lapcheska of Logansport, Stephanie Lapcheska of Indianapolis, Kyle Morehead (Amanda Kukukla), of Logansport, and Lilly Shaffer of Logansport; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Danely, Quentin Danely, Micaela Hernandez, Moses Hernandez and Kaysen Morehead. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Dana Laughlin and Doris Sines.
Funeral Information
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Tom DeFries officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
