Virgina Ruth Burrough

Virginia Burrough, 91, of Silvis, IL, passed away July 15, 2010 at her residence. Virginia, a former resident of Logansport, recently relocated from West Bend, WI to Silvis.

Born August 8, 1918 in Butler, Indiana, Virginia was the daughter of John C. and Blanche Nebb Ryan. She was married July 4, 1943 in Logansport, Indiana to Donald E. Burrough, who survives.

A graduate of Logansport High School, Virginia was a housewife and devoted mother. She volunteered at her children’s school functions, was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, and was active in her church. Hobbies included playing bridge and collecting Hummels. Virginia enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending winters in Arizona.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, Donald L. (Sue) Burrough, of Silvis, IL, and John Ryan (Carolyn) Burrough, of Johnston, IA; one daughter Gini L. (Steve) Curry, of Reynoldsburg, OH; one sister, Barbara Deane, of Logansport; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gerald, Bert, and Herschel Ryan; and two sisters, Juanita O’Conner and Phyllis Brewer.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services in the funeral chapel.
