Jack Lee Swafford, 67 of Logansport, passed away at 9:39 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 in his home.

Born August 24, 1942 in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of Harry B. and Georgia M. Koble Swafford. On December 20, 1973, in Logansport, he was married to Diana E.(Banes) Swafford, who survives.

Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, enlisted as a member of the Indiana National Guard with a total of 26 years in service to his country.

A self-proclaimed "jack-of-all-trades," Jack was self-employed in roofing and carpentry.

He attended Wheatland Ave. United Methodist Church. Jack was a hard-working man who was a devoted husband and father. He loved his family so much.

Surviving with his wife are 3 Sons, Stanley (Laurie) Swafford of Logansport, IN, Harry (Angela) Swafford of Logansport, IN, and Michael (Christine) Swafford of Young America, IN; Daughter, Cheryl (John Malott) Swafford of Young America, IN; Brother, Michael (Linda) Swafford of Erie, Michigan; 2 Sisters, Sharon Wilburn of Logansport, IN, and Judy (Herbert) Linton of Marengo, Indiana; and 5 Grandchildren, Daiten Swafford, Cheyenne Raderstorf, Christopher Raderstorf, Dalton Raderstorf, and Sidney Swafford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry and Gayle Swafford; and one sister, Beverly Drummond.

Funeral Information

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Fisher Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Joann Kaiser officiating. Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home's veterans garden.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. Sunday until the time of services.

Donations Information

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church and the Indiana Veterans Home Activity Fund.
