Michael Arthur Thompson

November 25, 1955 - July 19, 2010

Michael Arthur "Big Mike" Thompson, 54, of Lafayette, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010, at his home.

Born November 25, 1955, in Norway, Michigan, he was the son of Michael Byrne Thompson and Judith Ann Tutas Thompson.

On Feburary 14, 2003, he was married to Judy L. Thompson, in Billings Montana,
she survives.

He had worked as a service manager at Wiers International Truck since May 2007.

Michael was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was a High Priest. He enjoyed hunting, 4-wheeling, motorcycles, snowmobiles and exploring the countryside with his wife. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved life and he especially cherished his beloved wife.

Surviving with his wife are his mother, Judith Thompson; his father and step-mother, Michael B. and Joyce Thompson; two sons, Nicholas Wallace Thompson, of Iron Mountian, MI and Johnathan Goss (Coletta), of Rhinelander, WI; two daughters, Amy Bussey and Cassandra Bussey, both of Casper, WY; two sisters, Lisa Ann Celello (Dave) and Marcia Marie Thompson,all of Iron Mountian, MI; and brother Jim Burrows (Sandy), Greenville, WI. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews; Ashley Thomas (Drew), Joseph Celello, Miranda Celello, Brooke Thompson, David Burrows, and Lindsey Burrows.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Wallace Thompson.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in West Lafayette.
